Footboard

July 19, 2007

Yesterday, San and I travelled by footboard. On the college bus. Yeah, the very same thing we pay an obscene amount as ‘transport fees’ to travel by. That apart, footboard-hanging is fun, only we sat on it. Usually, we’re more than happy to have the footboard. Reason? Leg space, more wind in our hair and the fact that three people don’t have to squeeze together to fit in. Ideal. For, say, half hour.

But I assure, NOT for an hour and a half. NOT when there’s sun blazing in your face, you can’t look at the other person w/o squinting, your feet are burning courtesy the sun, you’re getting a very bad back ache (not to mention the butt) and idiots on the road are looking at you like you’ve sprouted four heads. 😐 Imagine, dirt, dust, aluminium or whatever flooring, very hard. For a whole hour and half. I-Pod -> V. The only saving grace was, we got to look at the most amazing green EVER. That would be the lots and lots of green-green-green fields on the way.

And just when we thought we’d had enough of footboard to last us quite awhile, the bus screeches to a halt and the driver announces that the compression chamber had some glitch. San & I, orey the relieved at thought of changing bus. Enter annoying-max prof. “Ni medhuva po pa, adhellam namba apram paathukalaam.” *Growl* And so we ended up there while the bus inched its way through the roads, reaching home a good half hour later than usual. Sigh. Some experience.

Anyway, we survived the ordeal. With sore limbs and a pink face, but nevertheless!

If you wanted the ipod you were always free to ask me. I wasn’t listening for more than half the journey.
