The New Indian Express re-launched today. So I got myself a copy and here’s what I think:
- Better newsprint. More readable design.
- Okay local/national news.
- So-so Editorial. Great Op-ed.
- Good sport coverage.
- Bad crossword.
- Indulge [tabloid] is sweeet - Lots of info on city activity there!
There you go. Now I’m looking forward to reading TOI in Madras!
Amrut has a post up on similar lines. Rather succinct.

TUd stole my words. Every page of the tabloid, and I mean every page apart from the TV channel program guide page, has a hawt babe posing. Not that I am complaining…

Wow.. IE did impress me.. For the folks who missed - like me..
Here’s the epaper - http://epaper.newindpress.com/
Wow, It has got a whole new look and feel to it.. Aint too predictable as “The Hindu”..
Yeah, even though its possible flame bait - The Hindu has just grown a bit too much and we need something new, something in d form of “IE”!

Yeah, Right!!.. Want some free subscriptions? =P..
But really I love the whole new bold redesign.. I mean its good to see something refreshing.. Cause i’ve read The Hindu like for eternity now.. Tried picking up The DC(!?) when it was launched, but I couldnt somehow get myself to read it..(for obvious reasons) :P..
Well, looks like it’ll be a lil’ tough competition for The Hindu from now on..

Holler! Long time no visit and all.
Yea, IE got itself a revamp. The Bangalore edition of City Express is now called Expresso (imagine!)
And they printed my second article for them!
(I still think they could have done without the terrible Rakhi Sawant interview :P)

Though the new look and all is cool but I have to agree with TUd and Sagaro. I would have rather liked the old Chennai Express. They have too much of unwanted stuff nowadays. Most of the paper is talking about film actors or TV actors which I find irritating.

Yep, figured.
@Karthiksn:
=) Too much Page 3, I agree!
@Kaushik:
Umm. I haven’t YET read that column. But now that I know you author it, I’ve had a suitably awkward moment and shall tell you after I catch it this Saturday.
